Hi, I’m Madelief. I’m 26 and I live in Barcelona, where I paint most of my work on my sunny balcony. That little corner feels like my safe space, a place to pause, enjoy the sun, and let creativity flow.

I started painting during a time when I was struggling with anxiety. At first it was just a quiet escape, but it quickly turned into something I can’t imagine my life without. Painting helps me reflect, capture memories, and stay connected with the people around me.

My work is semi-abstract. I love creating open, dreamy spaces, but there’s always one detail that carries the story. Often it’s inspired by a memory, a shared moment, or even a color that feels meaningful to someone close to me.

When I’m not painting, I work as an Operations Manager at a travel agency. Traveling sparks my curiosity and fills me with new ideas. The colors of a city, the atmosphere of a landscape, or simply the people I meet often find their way back into my paintings.
